February 19th, 2010
Public Hearings before the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission begin soon. Scheduled hearing dates are:
Tuesday, February 23rd (4 to 7 p.m.), 2nd Floor, City Hall
Wednesday, March 10 (1:30 to 4:30 p.m.), 2nd Floor, City Hall.
At the discretion of the Chairman, the hearings can be continued at subsequent meetings. The Planning Commission would like to hear from EVERYONE. To keep these hearings running smoothly, the Chairman Michelle Cantrell has outlined procedures on how testimony will be received and handled.
You have several options for submitting your input.
We maintain the comments we receive and you can also read public comments to the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission that have been submitted as a part of the public record of the hearing process.
INCOG has also provided their comments on the Final Drafts of the Vision and Policy Plan. They are available here.
If you would like to submit written testimony for the public hearing, please download this comment card that you can fill out online and email, print out and mail, or bring with you to the hearing. Paper copies will also be available at the hearings.
You are also encouraged to speak at the hearings. Refer to the procedures for instructions and tips.
Council District review meetings were held from February 2nd through 22nd. These informational meetings included detailed maps, Q and A, and a chance to learn more about the plan.
After the public hearing, the Planning Commission will vote to close the public hearing, and go into Review Session. Both the hearings and the subsequent deliberation at the review sessions will be televised on TGOV, Cox Channel 24, and webcast at TGOVonline.org
City Council may approve the plan in whole or in part or return the plan, or portions to the Planning Commission for further consideration. There will be additional public hearings, and your voice will be important here, too. Check back for dates and details.
To date, thousands of Tulsans have shared ideas and hard work. There are many who will want to see this Plan through to the very end and final approval. We encourage you to participate and help make PLANiTULSA even better! Thanks, and keep checking the calendar.
